The Andaman and Nicobar Islands is spread across bay of bengal as a thin strip of land with many small islands hanging onto it. This island still remains as a mystery as the accessibilty to the island was very limited in the past. 

  The Andaman & Nicobar with scenic landscapes and its crystal clear beaches are worth a visit.  Some of the islands are inhabited and some uninhabited . The tribal count has decreased drastically in past few years, thanks to  the efforts by governments on rehabilitating the tribes. Some of the existing tribes are JARAWAS, Onge, Sentinelese, Shompens.

  During the British period political leaders deported dreaded criminals mainland to the Cellular Jail- the Indian Bastille, situated on the sea coast of Atlanta Point in the Port Blair. These islands were otherwise called as the 'Black Water  Prison' or 'Kala Pani'.

  Port Blair is the capital of Andaman and Nicobar island.You can find many flights connecting port blair to chennai,Delhi and Calcutta Travelling between islands is easy as there are scheduled boat trips. You can alternatively take a ride on helicopter for a different experience.
